Affiliate Disclosure

TL;DR: We make money when you buy VPNs through our links. This doesn’t change our reviews—if something sucks, we’ll tell you.

How Affiliate Marketing Works

VPNSpin.com participates in affiliate programs with VPN providers, antivirus companies, and password managers.

Here’s what happens when you click a link:

  1. You click a link to a VPN provider from one of our reviews
  2. A tracking cookie is placed in your browser (usually lasts 30-90 days)
  3. If you purchase within that window, we earn a commission
  4. The commission ranges from $1-$100+ depending on the product and plan length

You pay the same price—affiliate commissions are paid by the VPN provider, not added to your bill.

Which Programs We Use

We partner with affiliate networks and direct programs, including:

  • Impact.com (NordVPN, Surfshark, CyberGhost, PIA, and others)
  • Commission Junction (CJ) (ExpressVPN, TunnelBear)
  • Direct Programs (Smaller VPN providers with in-house affiliate systems)

Our Editorial Independence Policy

We know what you’re thinking: “If you make more money from Brand X, won’t you rank it higher?”

Fair question. Here’s our answer:

Our Rule: Commission rates DO NOT influence rankings or review scores.

Why? Because long-term trust is worth more than short-term commissions. If we recommend garbage products for higher payouts, you’ll stop trusting us and we lose everything.

How we maintain independence:

  • We test products before checking commission rates
  • We criticize products we’re affiliates for (e.g., “NordVPN’s kill switch failed in my test”)
  • We warn against products with high payouts if they’re unsafe (e.g., free VPNs that sell data)
  • We recommend non-affiliate products when they’re genuinely better

FTC Compliance

This disclosure complies with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials.

We clearly mark affiliate links and sponsored content. Our reviews reflect honest opinions based on actual testing.

What We Don’t Do

  • Accept payment for positive reviews
  • Recommend unsafe products for higher commissions
  • Hide affiliate relationships
  • Copy-paste marketing materials as “reviews”
  • Fake test results to favor high-paying partners
